2015 Snipes Mountain

100% Grenache.  Upland Vineyard. 

As you may know by now, we love Upland Vineyard. 2015 is our third vintage from this vineyard, and it continues to be one of our favorite sites to grow Grenache. When sampling and blending, we look for those that stand out as having the characteristics we feel strongly identify with Upland Vineyard: red fruit driven, with an elegance and purity more often found in pinot noir.

Tasting Notes:  True to Upland’s elegant style, the 2015 brims with rich red fruit, spicy vanilla, and a hint of cinnamon. The palate is indulgent, filled with summery red fruit mingling with touches of dark cocoa. It finishes with a flash of velvety tannin amidst the succulent core of fruit and spice, and leaves a delightful, lasting impression that encourages another sip.
